Functional Genomics of Virus-Host Interactions

Project Objectives

  • Develop and optimize tobacco rattle virus (TRV)-based virus induced gene silencing (VIGS) system to study gene function in plants.
  • Screen for suppressors of disease resistance and susceptibility using TRV-based VIGS system
  • Functional proteomics approach to study virus-host interactions: using 2D-gel electrophoresis, 2D DIGE, mass spectroscopy, and isolation of protein complexes by tandem affinity purification (TAP) method.
